Updating a classic Eichler for modern living requires a delicate touch. Facing rigid layouts and a lack of storage, our goal was to maximize functionality while strictly respecting the post-and-beam architecture and indoor-outdoor connection. We designed an integrated kitchen utilizing grain-matched walnut cabinetry that echoes the home's original paneling, hiding high-efficiency appliances and clever pull-out storage. Crisp terrazzo countertops and an oversized skylight balance the wood tones, bathing the space in natural light.
